We assisted a large metropolitan University with a review of their professional services functions (incorporating student and academic services, finance, information technology, marketing and human resources). For this assignment we worked in partnership with the Executive Dean, all members of the Senior Management Group, and academic and professional staff representatives within the Faculty. Outside the Faculty we worked in partnership with the Faculty Administration members in three other Faculties to compare their business practices. We worked closely with the HR team to ensure compliance with HR policy, to discuss and resolve industrial relations matters, and to ensure appropriate union consultation. This partnership approach assisted in achieving commitment at all levels for the recommended changes in business practice and a corresponding shift in organisational culture.
